I want to focus this blog on helping John McCain get elected. That much is clear. But there is something I have to get off my chest before unleashing the lengthy series of supportive posts currently collecting in my brain. In the store @ John McCain.Com, they offer personalized t-shirts for just about every ethnic and cultural minority imaginable. Currently available:
Women For McCain, Irish For McCain, Jewish Americans For McCain, Hispanics For McCain, Asian & Pacific Islanders For McCain, Arab Americans For McCain (!).
Now I don’t want to seem ungrateful, but, uh…I’m black, proud, and I want a damn T-shirt. I have contacted the McCain campaign and received no reply. I think it’s safe to assume that if Arab Americans get their own shirt, Black Men are not asking too much…

Is this a joke site? If so… freaking hilarious, dude. I mean seriously, a black man for John McCain? Classic… I’m trying to think of someone that would be on your list of members. That would be funny too, a list of members that was actually blank. I give you credit to steal my idea in the name of great humor if you are interested in posting it. Good stuff, especially with the Arab Americans t-shirt picture. Truly hilarious…

Maybe you should ask for a “Black Man for McCain” tee shirt since you are the only black man who is for grampy.
August 12, 2008 at 7:30 pm
I also could not find “Trollops for McCain” or “Discarded Crippled Wives for McCain” either. Hmm…
August 12, 2008 at 7:35 pm
You just don’t get it, do you? The reason there are no such T-shirts is because Repugs don’t want black people supporting them. In case you didn’t know, Repugs are racists and they hate black people (actually, as all good Christians, they love the people but they hate the sin of being black) and they don’t want your kind around them. Get used to it or, better yet, actively seek to crush them in November.
August 12, 2008 at 7:43 pm
You can get a button, a keychain, or a bumper sticker that says African Americans for McCain. Apparently though, you’re just not good enough to get a t-shirt.
August 12, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Thank you all for showing your liberal ignorance at its worst. If you had read a few books, you’d know that Martin Luther King Jr. was a REPUBLICAN. And if you’d gone to college, you’d know that REPUBLICANS freed the slaves. I thought I’d have more posts to discuss these issues in depth before getting crucified, but apparently you libs are so ready to trash anyone who disagrees with you…

Let’s not pick on the guy — I’m sure Alan Keyes is a big supporter of McCain, isn’t he? That’d bring the total up to two.
And wendelljackson, you might want to read up on the Republican party’s history a bit before claiming the current iteration has anything other than the name in common with past versions.

“Martin Luther King Jr. was a REPUBLICAN”
Maybe, but not in the 60s when the civil rights era was ushered in.
Republicans were rather anti-civil rights at that point; as well as today.

Republican of yore are not Republicans of today. Party of Lincoln? My ass.
August 12, 2008 at 8:21 pm
If Lincoln were alive today, he’d be a Democrat. States’ Rights, and all that slavery stuff, he wasn’t down with either one. Also, remember the part where there was a huge cultural shift right around MLK’s day, and the Democrats “Lost the South for a generation,” because they adopted more progressive policies toward race relations, and Racists started voting Republican? Yeah. Oh, and the best part; (put on your tinfoil hat!) Dr. King’s family pretty much believes he was killed by American intelligence, for being a “communist.” And of course, all the guys in charge of FBI/CIA back then are the direct political predecessors (or in some cases the actual same people) of Bush 1, Bush 2, and McCain’s political machines.
So you make a good point. For people who don’t agree with you, that is.
But it’s a hilarious joke site, let’s see more humor, kay?

Welcome to blogdom! I’m sure your site will be short-lived, since McCain won’t last past November; on the other hand, this is sure to be a downright HILARIOUS collection of addled thoughts and malformed arguments in support of Cotton Hill (McCain’s cartoon name)
August 12, 2008 at 8:43 pm
Republicans freed the slaves. “My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union.”
Whatever. Thanks anyway, Abe.

@Chris
Well no one said they expected someone to vote for Barack Obama because he was black except you, you can just as easily assume that since 88% voted Democrat in the last election, most African Americans still would stay with the Democratic Party now.
August 12, 2008 at 9:23 pm
And those 88% of African-Americans would be foolish to stick with the Democrat Party. What has the Democrat Party done to improve the daily lives of African-Americans in the U.S. in the past 20 years? Do we not have more poverty? Do we not have more unemployed black men? Do we not have more children out of wedlock? Do we not have more black children with failing test scores in school? How bad does it have to get before those 88% wakeup and realize that the Democrat Party has done largely nothing to improve their situation?
August 12, 2008 at 9:38 pm
As I stated before….
the Black Man needs not look to either the Republican or Democratic party for guidance in how to overcome poverty, unemployment, children out of wedlock, failing test scores, or the murders and crimes perpetuated upon ourselves, by ourselves.
We need to look in the mirror, and take responsibility for ourselves, for our brothers and sisters, and not depend on help from others in this country.
We need to follow in God’s path to the promised land… and do good for all human beings… even if their skin color or their beliefs do not match our own.
When we all work together, we will can overcome anything, and the glory of God will be amongst us all!

This site represents a great step forward for equality. Truly, in our great nation, a black man can aspire to be as stupid and delusional about the Republican con artists as any white man. Rock on, brother!
August 12, 2008 at 10:41 pm
“And those 88% of African-Americans would be foolish to stick with the Democrat Party. What has the Democrat Party done to improve the daily lives of African-Americans in the U.S. in the past 20 years?”
Republicans have controlled the White House for 12 of the past 20 years, and of the eight that Bill Clinton was in office, Republicans controlled Congress for most of that time.
Next question!
August 12, 2008 at 10:51 pm
Democrats are elected by blacks at all levels government, not just Federal. How about the predominantly democrat cities of Detroit, Philly, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Chicago, etc. Has life for poor minorities in these cities improved over the last 15 years with democrats in full control?
Then what of the record amounts of money we have spent nationally during the last 20 years on:
The war on poverty
The war on drugs
Education
Faith-based social programs
Welfare
At which point do people start becoming responsible for themselves instead of reliant on government?

This site is a joke, right? I honestly don’t understand why any reasonably intelligent person of any color would vote for a nasty-tempered, doddering old misogynist. Particularly one who openly admitted to not knowing jack about economics (and then forgot he said it) when we’re in a nationwide financial crisis.
August 13, 2008 at 2:16 am
“Then what of the record amounts of money we have spent nationally during the last 20 years on:
The war on poverty
The war on drugs
Education
Faith-based social programs
Welfare”
The war on poverty - See: Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Republicans still hopelessly and pathetically stuck in the 1960s.
The war on drugs - See: Term coined by Richard Nixon in 1971, championed by Reagan with the creation of the “Drug Czar”. US involvement in cocaine trafficking (see: Iran Contra Scandal) and sponsorship of production and trafficking of heroin (see: CIA and Pashtun Mafia, which helped fund and arm Afghanistan; see: 9/11 attacks, Afghanistan, Taliban) all happened under Republicans.
Education - See: “No Child Left Behind”, George W. Bush, John McCain’s voting record on eduction, the past four Republican administrations’ records on education.
Faith-based social programs - See: George W. Bush Administration, “Faith Based Initiative”
Welfare - See: Clinton Administration, Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act.
August 13, 2008 at 2:31 am
The point is that we have spent more money on fighting these societal issues (drugs, poverty, welfare, etc) than at any time in our nation’s history yet these problems are not shrinking or going away. The current administration has spent more than any other administration on education yet we still have failing schools in Democrat-controlled cities across the USA.
Again, at what point does personal responsibility enter the picture instead of criticizing Republicans at the federal level? I guess it’s just easier to blame someone else for the troubles in your life.
August 13, 2008 at 6:03 am
They DO have a t-shirt for blacks. You’re just not searching for the correct Republican terminology for black people. I’ll give you a hint… it starts with the letter N.
August 13, 2008 at 2:52 pm
@Chris
We weren’t discussing whether or not it’s wise, but my argument is that you were the one bringing up that people would be voting for Democrats because Barack is black, instead I was saying that it’s been quite typical for African Americans to vote Democrat regardless of Obama.
Although I agree with another commenter, your dissatisfaction with the current situation is amusing since Republicans have dominated every level of government in every branch for almost the past decade. It’s this dissatisfaction that is bringing people to the Democratic side, which will bring those percentages higher in my opinion.
August 14, 2008 at 2:04 pm
“This site is a joke, right? I honestly don’t understand why any reasonably intelligent person of any color would vote for a nasty-tempered, doddering old misogynist. -Because it’s better then voting for a socialist, racist, demagogue who just blathers empty platitudes to get elected before unleashing a destructive agenda. We had one of those in the world from the 1920’s to the 1940’s…………..and he had the cutest little moustache.
August 14, 2008 at 5:41 pm
Actually, this group is bigger than most people think. Something that is never talked about in the MSM is that there is a “gender gap” among black voters that is exactly the same size (23 percentage points) as it is among white voters. Specifically, while only 2% of black WOMEN vote Republican, 25% of black MEN do.
August 14, 2008 at 6:15 pm
“The point is that we have spent more money on fighting these societal issues (drugs, poverty, welfare, etc) than at any time in our nation’s history yet these problems are not shrinking or going away. The current administration has spent more than any other administration on education yet we still have failing schools in Democrat-controlled cities across the USA.”
And this website is in support of the candidate that wants to continue those same policies that you yourself argue are failures. McCain backed Bush on every issue 95% of the time in 2007 and 100% of the time in 2008. So what was your point?
“Again, at what point does personal responsibility enter the picture instead of criticizing Republicans at the federal level?”
This website is specifically about supporting electing a Republican to the chief executive office of the “Federal level”.
“I guess it’s just easier to blame someone else for the troubles in your life.”
You’re the one who brought up a laundry list of “failed policies” - all of them the responsibility of REPUBLICAN elected officials and policies - that you blame for the failings of “Democrat Party” controlled regions.
Why does it seem to be the rule that when criticism falls on McCain, McCain supporters change the subject?
This site is supposedly about the author’s support for McCain, yet no arguments in favor of McCain are provided - just rants about t-shirts and “liberals”.
And in your supposed ‘defense’ of support for McCain, you change the subject to circular nonsense that boils down to “what good has the Republican War on Drugs and No Child Left Behind done for “Democrat Party” cities like Detroit?”
August 14, 2008 at 7:34 pm
I’m from Oakland California. I can personally attest to the failure of Democratic politicians. Everywhere a Democrat rules there is chaos, rampant crime, rotten schools and filthy streets. As for majority Black support being a good reason to vote for a candidate, the very opposite is true. If they support someone, run like the wind in the opposite direction because he, or she, will fuck your shit up!

You know, I keep hearing these Democrats saying that Republicans are racist, but when I listen to what people say, it’s usually the Democrats and their supporters going on and on about race. It’s Democrats who keep asking for racial preferences based on the color of a person’s skin, while Republicans persist in judging people by the content of their character.
Some of the nastiest racial slurs come from liberals who use them on Republican minorities like Condoleezza Rice, Clarence Thomas, and Michelle Malkin. You should see what some of the “tolerant” Democrats say about minorities who dare to defy the identity politics of the left, which tells them that all minorities must be liberal (isn’t judging a person’s political views based on his skin color an act of stereotyping– a racist act?)
And then these same people have the audacity to accuse Republicans of racism– sometimes in their same rants where they have said some of the most vile, racist things about conservative minorities.
It’s not the Republicans telling minorities that they are so helpless and incapable of success on their own that they must vote for people who will bend the standards to make things easier for them.
It’s not the Republicans who have a vested interest in keeping minorities as a permanent victim class (which will presumably then always vote for the people that give them their meager handouts, having been fooled into thinking that the Democrats are their only hope).
Look at what the effect of this has had on minorities. The number of inner city black babies born without a father present is a lot higher than it was during the pre-civil rights era, and crime has exploded in those communities (the two are very much related). And yet people keep looking to the Democrats to help them with more of the same policies that created the problem in the first place.
It’s a trap set by Democrats to keep a permanent voting bloc. If inner city poor people are able to better themselves and become successful, why, they may just start voting for lower taxes and less government interference– and that is the very last thing Democrats want.
August 16, 2008 at 11:06 pm
Porcupine9:
I hope you aren’t seriously calling for a move back to the “pre-civil rights era.” I don’t think you really meant that, since you were ranting about racist liberals and the irony of that would just be too impossibly humorous.
People need to stop saying that welfare is just government handouts to (black) people who are too lazy to work. This may be the case for some, but for the vast majority of the time the system is not abused it it actually helps out a lot of people in need. Wanna see a society with no safety net? Go to Indonesia where the poor sit in layers on the sides of the streets begging for money to stay alive.
But then again those Indonesians are notoriously lazy…
This whole myth that everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed in this country has gone on for too l0ng. When George W. Bush was born, he was born into a world of possibilities that a minority born in the Ghettos of Chicago will never know.
Sometimes people fall into hard times for reasons not their fault and even reasons that are their fault. I think it’s nice that we have a government that cares about those people.

Somehow, I don’t think he was referring to the Republicans of the 19th century when he wrote that. Not that I agree with him; I think many Republicans are extremely kind and decent people.
History obviously doesn’t play too much of a role in party platform; after all, the Republicans used to be the party of “small government.”
August 17, 2008 at 7:08 pm
The Klan only wishes it could hold its foot on the neck of black men and women as thoroughly well as the scumbag democrat party has for the last 60 years.
Leftists tend to be liars(and stupid ones at that) when any subject comes up. regarding 50’s and 60’s era civil rights legislation, it was the Republicans in Congress who enabled passage. Were it up to the scum who populate the democrat party, it never would have become law.
August 18, 2008 at 4:47 am
ccoffer:
What a silly thing to say.
Of course Republicans played a part in its passage, but most of its leading champions were Democrats, hence the history spin. I don’t think its completely unfair to attribute The Civil Rights Act of 1964 to the Democrats.
I don’t think African Americans often vote Democrat because of what the Democratic party did for them fourty years ago. Instead, I would suggest that they vote Democrat because its is often in their best interest. Democrats are the party of Affirmative Action (something I think needs to go) and economic security for the lower class, two things that appeal greatly to those voters.
August 18, 2008 at 4:53 am
I want to clear up the lie that Republicans are racists. It only takes a little research to disprove it. First of all, a greater number of Republicans in Congress voted in favor of the 1964 Civil Rights Act than did democrats. Lyndon Johnson knew he was going to need the Republicans to get it passed. Democrats that voted against it include: Albert Gore, Sr., Robert Byrd and J. William Fulbright (Bill Clinton’s mentor). It’s the democrats that have been racists. George Wallace tried to keep black people from entering the University of Alabama. Robert Byrd was a former KKK leader. Bull Conner turned fire hoses on black people. These are just a few of the racists in the democrat party. Democrats have been making the same empty promises to black people for over 40 years. During that same time period the democrats and their willing accomplices in the liberal news media have been trying to convince black people that it’s the Republicans and not the democrats that are racists. They try to smear Republicans by telling subtle lies or only part of the story. Do a little research and the truth will come out. The democrats don’t want black people to be successful. That’s why they are so scared of people like JC Watts, Justice Clarence Thomas and Condoleezza Rice. Democrats want black people to remain dependent on them. Democrats define compassion as helping people by giving them handouts. Republicans define compassion by helping people get to a place where they will no longer need those handouts. Republicans aren’t perfect. No person or political party is. If a Republican’s conduct comes into question, he or she will usually be crucified by the democrats and the liberal news media. If it turns out that the conduct in question is true, fellow Republicans will see that that person is punished. If a democrat’s conduct comes into question, the democrats and the liberal news media circle the wagons to try to keep the truth from coming out. Republicans will admit weakness but democrats never will. Finally, Lincoln freed the slaves. Lincoln was a Republican and a conservative and if he ran for office today he would run as a Republican. John Kennedy believed in a strong military and tax cuts (he proposed one and it was passed after he was assassinated and by the way it stimulated the economy as tax cuts always do). Today’s democrats hate the military and never met a tax hike they didn’t like. Ronald Reagan said it best when he said he didn’t leave the democrat party it left him. The choice is yours: continue believing what the democrats and the liberal news media are telling you or do a little research on the history of this country and learn the truth. I dare you to do a little research.
August 18, 2008 at 8:36 pm
TheTruth:
You said some pretty wild things in that last comment there. I think you have a pretty skwewed view of Democrats if you think they “hate the military” or “want black people to remain dependent on them.”
Its always sort of sad and amusing at the same time when you see someone who seems to literaly despise people with different political views. Just because someone disagrees with you about how to make our country a better place doesn’t make them evil.
And if the media is so liberal, how do you explain the complete lack of critical coverage leading into the invasion of Iraq? The media typically tells their viewers what they want to hear. Sorry buddy, there is no big liberal conspiracy.
August 19, 2008 at 3:23 am
Miniman:
The democrat politicians do hate the military. John Kerry, Jack Murtha, Joe Biden, Jim McDermott, Dick Durbin and Ted Kennedy have all made disparaging remarks about the military. Clinton dismantled the military as much as he could during his 8 years as president. George W. Bush had to rebuild the military. Hillary insisted that no military uniforms be worn at the White House. Except for the Joint Chiefs that order was enforced. The military attaché (the man who carries the nuclear football) was only permitted to wear a uniform at formal functions and that was because foreign dignitaries prefer a military presence. Speaking of the nuclear football, Clinton actually lost the card key with the launch codes for it. The codes are changed periodically. When the cards were to be exchanged, Clinton couldn’t find the card key he was supposed to be carrying with him. He had no idea when it was lost. Who knows how long he was unable to launch a nuclear response. It was never found.
I don’t hate democrats. I just don’t think they have a clue how to run this country. As for the liberal bias of the mainstream media, it’s so obvious. Just look at the coverage given to Obama versus the coverage given to McCain.
As for your comment:
“This whole myth that everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed in this country has gone on for too long. When George W. Bush was born, he was born into a world of possibilities that a minority born in the Ghettos of Chicago will never know.”
Don’t tell Colin Powell that. He worked hard and succeeded. No one said that the American Dream would be easy. It requires hard work and commitment. True, George Bush had some advantages. His father may have got him into Princeton and Harvard but he had to work hard to make the grades. Harvard doesn’t give away MBA’s. They are most certainly earned.
August 20, 2008 at 6:10 am
Honestly, all of this is an argument that can and never will be won. Each side has an infinite amount of fingers to point at the other and most of the time people do it for the wrong reasons.
Issues concerning race have been made almost impossible to discuss because it’s been weaponized by the media and by politicians. It’s almost like the “black (sheesh there’s no way of getting around word associated racism) spot” in Treasure Island. Once your labled with it, it sticks forever. Minorities or people historically subject to racism don’t hold a monopoly over experiencing it, nor do they have all the answers in fixing it.
It’ll take a safe forum and open ears to get anywhere with race. Especially in this election.
August 20, 2008 at 12:52 pm
Do some reasearch guys….the ignorance here is astounding.
Republicans have always been civil rights supporters…the civil war was not about slavery…Democrats today still do not care about civil rights and their platform is meant to keep blacks, Hispanics, and others (they are NOT minorities anymore) down and tied to welfare. (Funny, there was no need for welfare prior to WWII…).
I know many blacks who will not be voting for Obama. He is business as usual for liberals and more radical than he or his camp will allow you to see.

The Democrats’ Missing History
By JEFFREY LORD
August 13, 2008
As Democrats prepare to nominate Sen. Barack Obama to be the first black president, the Democratic National Committee and its chairman, Howard Dean, have whitewashed the party’s horrific and lengthy record of racism. The omission is in the section of the DNC Web site that describes the party’s history. The missing history raises the obvious question of whether the Democrats, unable or simply unwilling to put their party on record as taking direct responsibility for one of the worst racial crimes of the ages, will be able to run a campaign free of the racial animosities it has regularly brought both to American presidential campaigns and American political and social life in general.
What else to make of the official party history as presented by the DNC on its Web site? It is a history so sanitized of historical reality it makes Stalin look like David McCullough.
The DNC Web site section labeled “Party History,” linked here, is in fact scrubbed clean of the not-so-little dirty secret that fueled Democrats’ political successes for over a century and a half and made American life a hell on earth for black Americans. Literally, the DNC official history, which begins with the creation of the party in 1800, gets to the creation of the DNC itself in 1848 and then–poof!–the next sentence says: “As the 19th Century came to a close, the American electorate changed more and more rapidly.” It quickly heads into a riff on poor immigrants coming to America.
In a stroke, 52 years of Democratic history vanishes. Disappeared faster than the truth in the Clinton administration. Why would this be? Allow me to sketch in a few facts from those missing 52 years. For that matter, lets add in the facts from the party history before and after those 52 years, since they aren’t mentioned by the Democrats’ National Committee either–check out what’s missing.

Guess what–there IS a National Black Republicans Association–and surprise–they have been attacked by the dems. Such a party (dem) of fairness, *insert sarcasm*.

Scarey for you Obamasiah folks…an intelligent black man ALWAYS scares you guys! (As opposed to “The One”–who is an empty suit!)

Wow. Joseph Blough saying a black man voting for McCain is like a jew voting for Hitler?
Do you need any more proof as to which party is the most vilely racist? The lefties get furious if a black person dares to leave the plantation. They never forgave Clarence Thomas. Maybe we’ll see “fugitive slave laws” for blacks who don’t vote Democrat?
Incidentally, Blough, Hitler was a socialist. Like modern day Democrats he believed that the State should control almost every aspect of the citizens lives.

Now, McCain mentioned that Obama is ‘like a rock star’ to make fun of his popularity. I don;t think it is fair at all for the Mainstream media to keep pointing out john McCain’s anthrophagy problem - I mean it is a mdical condition. However, it does point out some inconsistency on McCain’s part.
Specifically, he calls Obama a ‘rock star’, but he had that role in the Austin Powers movie ‘Goldmember’ - Remember him, the old wrinlkled guy who was _always_ eating_ his_ _own_ _skin_? Well, the skin part was not in the script!
I heard that recently, McCain bumped into Lieberman on his bus - The reason? A suddent movement to keep Lieberman from seeing him eating.
And that ’skin cancer treatment’ McCain said he had to have? A cover-up for self-digestion.
I do not know whether the US is ready for an autophage as president yet.

Well, Obama should realize that he cannot get the hard-working American , teh WHITE, vote. But I can!
And it will be a surprise when I announce at the Democratic convention that I have accepted McCain’s offer of the VP slot on his ticket!
C’Mon, Hillariacs! Joining the Republicans will free us! We can say the N word without fear of disapproval, just like back in Arkanses! It is time for the Redneck wing of the Democratic party to go where they belong - to the Republican Party.
Reagan (genuflect) was right - he switched over and it liberated him. And Goebbels, and McCarthy, Nixxon, and all of our idols. So pay attention to the lukewarm endorsements I make of Obama. Line up, sign up, and re-enlist today! Shoes for Industry !

I love your website and I hope it’s not a joke. Liberals have done the “black community” a great disservice by nurturing victimization, dependence, and resentment. Other posters are correct regarding the history of the republican party defending freedom including ending slavery. Frederick Douglas said being a republican was the only choice that made sense for him (not an exact quote, but that was the main point). The liberal democrat platform in this country to day is based on socialist/communist ideals. Compare them and then lip off. Oh sure, they are tolerant, just try having a different view when you have black skin.
September 4, 2008 at 1:23 pm
Let me add this, I hope you get your T-shirt! I wasn’t much of a McCain fan until Sarah joined the ticket. She’s conservative and tough as nails. I would have voted for him without her though, Barack would be too dangerous for America.

It’s racist on the part of the Dems to assume black people should be Dems too. I mean, let’s get real. Dems run for office because they want fame, not because they want to do the right thing for all people. They are selfish and they could care less about Blacks or any other “minority” group. They try to give the impression of caring by making false promises and preying upon anyone that seems uneducated or defenseless. As a white, republican woman I would vote for any black Republican any day before I voted for any white democrat. That’s because Republicans are intelligent and democrats or not. It’s more of the same with them - in your face, big spending government. Meanwhile, they are running around having affairs, and doing God knows what else with my hard earned money as the poor people sit around waiting for them to save them. It’s really a shame that the Liberals have managed to brainwash this poor defenseless group of people, regardless of color. Being a racist has nothing to do with one’s political affiliation and anyone who believes otherwise is simply ignorant. If the Republicans are so bad, then why have we had more of them as presidents than Democrats over time? Hmm, a point to ponder. Good luck Nobama, because dude you are going to need it if by some crazy twist of fate you manage to seal this presidency.

Who’d win a McCain and Obama dance-off? That’s the best t-shirt I’ve found - http://www.cnn.com/tshirt/index.html?hash=19107e8b660c0efde9203df450599840&session_id=

Way to go Ralph. (In reference to Lincoln being a Republican and freeing the slaves.) And to the young man who says that there are not shirts for him, I ask that he look at the Republican Convention ‘08 and borrow the shirt from one of the only two black guys that were there. But, seriously there are alot of Black Ameri-MCCAINS. And if I see one of them, there will be some smoke in the city.

I say good for you. I noted on another blog that regardless of who gets elected, the US’s civil agenda will be advanced with either a black or a woman in office. There’s no other serious alternative. Our country is moving ahead.
Obama is all talk. McCain is action. It’s refreshing to see the sites like demsformccain.com, blackmenformccain.com, womenforjohnmccain.com, etc. I’m conservative and wanted a more conservative republican to run. When it came out as McCain, I had to come to terms that we would be reaching out more to the left wing (less right-wing agenda) - and that’s ok. We do need a president who will listen to both sides.
With Obama, I won’t likely have a voice at all.

oh of course…what a surprise…a bunch of uneducated dullards whining and crying that Republicans don’t like black people…what a bunch of bs. Republicans don’t like slicksters like Obama who resent this country but think we’re stupid enough to vote for him for president. I don’t care if he’s black, purple or pink…HE’S the racist. Why don’t all you liberals wake up…if this jerk is elected president you will all be unpleasantly surprised…if you think he’s going to do anything for black America…you are sadly disillusioned.

The reason there is no shirt for us African Americans,The shirt wouldn’t had sold.

I am a single white mom, living in the urban D.C. area. I work hard, and spend my non-working time with my son. I do not rely on government with any assistance, and try an save a little every month. His best friend is a neighbor of ours, who is black and raised by a single black woman. They love each other dearly and are too young to know they are of different color, and I love that about young children. His mother however, seems to think white people are a bad influence on his son. Though she allows her son to play often with mine, her unemployed lazy boyfriend often asks her why she lets her son around a white boy. She works hard as well, but would rather drink away her night and not spend time with her child, and criticize those who wish to help support her child with love and friendship.
I grew up poor but disciplined. It’s my choice to create my own individual responsibility. Yes, while it’s hurtful to hear, I still see and witness the whole, feel sorry for me because I am a minority where I live. When you think about how so many other countries around this world would love to have the freedoms we enjoy daily, it makes me sick to see these freedoms being under appreciated, especially when I see young men and woman amputated for selflessly serving this country, and lazy Americans begging for change, while housing a huge flat screen T.V., but can’t pay the cable bill? So, George Bush grew up well off, should I be jealous of Will Smith’s kids? Obama attended Harvard, I’d say most of us could not get into, or afford that, but I am not jealous of him.
I am a Republican because I believe in my own responsibility and I do feel that more democrats are far less likely to accept a Republican than vice versa. Since when have you heard a Republican say that are out to destroy the black race??? This notion that voting for McCain is like voting for the KKK is disgusting and without merit. I do feel like the democrats feed on the notion that minorities want bigger government, but I think we all would like to pay less taxes, and that’s why the democrats are deceitful. They do pretend to care, social issues, but leave everyone to fail with their economic beliefs. I just wish I could wear my McCain shirt around my neighborhood without being labeled a racist, and a black man or woman could do the same with being called ignorant for voting for he/she believes in. When I see all this Obama shirts being worn, I keep my comments to myself, and appreciate that we are suppose to be living in a country of free speech and thought, so let a black guy have his right to choose without someone suggesting he is joking.
October 22, 2008 at 5:10 pm
ha ha! the black man doesn’t get a t-shirt. you’re so stupid.
October 23, 2008 at 5:29 pm
How about a shirt that says “I voted for Obama strictly because I’m the same color as him” because that’s essentially what’s happening with the blacks in America in this election.
October 24, 2008 at 6:19 pm
HOW about a shirt that says “I vote for whites every election”…??? Because blacks have always voted for whites now you complain because the best candidate is a black man?
Get real. Obama is the clear choice for President!
October 27, 2008 at 6:21 pm
It’s okay to vote as a bloc. We’ve (Black America) won’t be taken seriously until we do.
Voting as a bloc’s worked well for other North American communities. (Asian, Latino, etc.)
Go Obama! ;-D

I’m English, Irish, Scottish, Swedish, German (sorry about Hitler & I’m ashamed of treatment of Jews), American Indian, & Spanish, but haven’t forgotten any part of my heritage & wonder how Obama can mimimize his 50% white heritage when that 50% nurtured him, cared for him day & night, educated him in private schools & always doing what was best for him & someone paid for his excellent education at Harvard (And we still don’t know the entire story on that), but somehow thinks the black, whatever percentage, is most important when that part of him was never present. Not that I think any part should be minimized, but think as much as he is saying he’s trying to bring this country together what I see is him tearing it apart piece by piece.
Many people in this country had horrific childhoods (BLACK OR WHITE) for instance I was raised in an abusive houseehold & cannot remember not being beaten from the time I was born. We must pull ourselves up & do something about our circumstances & not rely on government to do it for us. Government is not our SAVIOR & LORD
October 29, 2008 at 5:27 pm
“They DO have a t-shirt for blacks. You’re just not searching for the correct Republican terminology for black people. I’ll give you a hint… it starts with the letter N.”
“You just don’t get it, do you? The reason there are no such T-shirts is because Repugs don’t want black people supporting them. In case you didn’t know, Repugs are racists and they hate black people (actually, as all good Christians, they love the people but they hate the sin of being black) and they don’t want your kind around them.”
This is ridiculous. To say that the “n word” is the correct Republican term for black people is offensive to me as a republican. It also shows your ignorance. These kind of stereotypical comments about Republicans are the same as someone actually calling a black person “n word”. And “the sin of being black”? This is not how republicans think. We accept everyone, and believe in equality. I am from Mississippi, and there is a black man who sits in the middle of town with a McCain/Palin sign and another sign that says “The welfare state has demoralized my people-the black race”. Think about it.

I do not have much to say here, but this is an interesting site and “thread.” One thing I did notice was…
“-Because it’s better then voting for a socialist, racist, demagogue who just blathers empty platitudes to get elected before unleashing a destructive agenda. We had one of those in the world from the 1920’s to the 1940’s…………..and he had the cutest little moustache.”
This was simply an example I wanted to use. I am not even saying I am against the statement….but I have seen fairly often in here a plethora of words used like demagogue and platitudes thrown about by witty political minds. But when I see it is much easier to remember a few fun words from a Poli. Sci. lecture than remember there is a difference between “then” and “than,” I wonder how much is coming out of an “ajolote” nesting ground. (have fun looking up what that means by the way : )

Thank you all for showing your liberal ignorance at its worst. If you had read a few books, you’d know that Martin Luther King Jr. was a REPUBLICAN. And if you’d gone to college, you’d know that REPUBLICANS freed the slaves. I thought I’d have more posts to discuss these issues in depth before getting crucified, but apparently you libs are so ready to trash anyone who disagrees with you…
November 4, 2008 at 12:12 am
Vote for the best candidate not the oldest or the black one. People tend to forget that the south may have owned slaves but it was the africans who sold humans in to slavery. Time has past lets move on or hold a grudge on both sides not just one.
November 4, 2008 at 12:50 am
My husband and I, my mom, my aunt & uncle and I’m sure a few other family members are voting for McCain. We are ALL black. Obama is a double minded man!
November 4, 2008 at 12:52 am
thank you Jmac for using your mind to vote not your eyes. god bless you
November 8, 2008 at 3:08 pm
Probably never got a response because the McCain camp didn’t think enough about you as a Black man to design the shirt…and now that I’ve read your post…neither do …eh well, it’s neither here nor there at this point…Congrats President Elect Barack Obama
November 13, 2008 at 12:16 pm
This is the dumbest things I have ever read. Blacks, women, minorities for McCain, COME ON!! the blacks who voted for McCain should wear your Tees proud now since he lost, and I wish I see you wearing it cause I’m going to joke you while I kick the shit out of you for being so stupid. “My President is BLACK” and I’m happy. Also if your so proud come to Philadelphia and wear your shirt Blacks for McCain and see if someone don’t kick the piss out of you.
November 14, 2008 at 8:29 pm
I just gotta respond to all you lying liberals here.
I’m a Republican and I’m not racist. My brother dates a black girl and my family lived with a black family for abut 5 years. Some of my best friends are black.
And I gotta add, MLK, Jr. was a Republican. Lincoln was a Republican. Republicans abolished slavery, Republicans passed Civil Rights Legislation. Look it up. FDR opposed Civil Rights Legislation.
